The New Album Dial It In!
is Now Available!
The Rev. features a few friends on this latest record. Garrett Dutton (aka G Love) blows harmonica and sings backing vocals with the amazing Hazel Miller, adding a hint of hip-hop to make for a soulful sounding infectious title track - Dial It In! Drummer Chris Parker (Bob Dylan, Joe Cocker, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, John Hammond Jr.) lends his skills on the skins, providing the beats for all the tracks (He also painted the cover of the Album). The Rev. is joined by Hugh Pool on harmonica (who also recorded and mixed the album), rocking the country blues of Jesus on the Mainline into the modern age with a new raw blues version of Depeche Mode’s, Personal Jesus. The Rev is also joined by Mark Karan (Bob Weir, Ratdog) on lead guitar for an original sorrowful San Francisco lament, Hippie Bluesman Blues. Brian Mitchell (BB King, Levon Helm, Al Green) tickles the ivories on another Rev original entitled 15 going on 50, and Jay Collins (Greg Allman) gets jazzy with Bob Dylan's epic It's Alright Ma (I'm only Bleeding) adding a little Morphine type tone with tenor and baritone saxes. The Rev. then brings it back home and pays tribute to Blind Willie Johnson with a version of Soul of a Man, adding a few new verses. This project was recorded at Excello studios in Brooklyn, NY to 2 inch tape and mixed to 1 inch tape. The record will be released on vinyl making it a true analog old school AAA project. (The Album will also be available for digital download and for purchase in CD format from Floating Records)
